It is many parent’s dreams to hold the babies of their babies, right.
But for so many people, especially over the age of 50 being able to pick up a 3-year-old or keep up with a 5-year-old is going to be a huge challenge physically.
One of my clients came to me purely because she wanted to be able to pick up her grandkids, take them to playground and participate with them, and get up and down off the floor without being in agony and pain each and every, single, time.
As we get older, we forget that it is our functional fitness that gets effected.
You know basic movements that get restricted and even become painful. People struggle with stairs, not being able to bend down, to lift things above your head, these are the things that are considered important for your functional fitness. Not to mention being able to balance and stay upright (using your core muscles).
Whatever the reason that people start with me, it is important for them to be able to set their goals around what they want to be able to achieve.
As for the scales, well the more muscle you build, the more energy you burn and the more weight that you will lose.
And my client?
Not only can she lift her grandkids and chase them around the park, she can balance on the bosu ball whilst doing bicep curls and she is over 70.
At It’s Personal, it doesn’t matter what you personal goal is, we are here to help you achieve it, with a few little bonuses along the way. 🙂
