Summer is around the corner, which means almost every gym or fitness studio are offering a 12-week challenge to get in shape for summer.
And look, I know for some people it’s a great time frame to get their fitness back on track.
I know you can get a great start with the 12-weeks. You will definitely feel better, you’ll even start to see the changes in your body yourself, not just on the scales.
But I wonder what happens on week 13?
Do you continue on for another round? Are you transformed for life?
What I see is a lot of bounce back weight gain. People become so strict in the 12 weeks to lose as much weight as possible, they can’t possibly enjoy it.
It was like punishment. And the flip side of punishment? Rewards.
So they reward themselves for doing a good job, for a job done right. But they overdo it and binge out. Gaining the weight back they worked so hard to lose, often more than a third comes back in the first 10 days.
When you choose to transform, you need to make a conscious decision that you will make this for life. A long-lasting, ongoing change for the better.
Yes, we do work in 12-week blocks (because I work within the school terms for clients and its an easy to follow calendar) but it is never one 12-week block, it’s the first building block to begin your transformation.
